Jay Groundwater, chairman of the board of the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, and Chamber President Alan Goodman were two of the officials who joined the festivities on Sept. 10 as ElectroBike Georgia opened the state’s first retail store in Brookhaven’s Brighten Park Shopping Center (2484 Briarcliff Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329). Eric Hunger, president of ElectroBike Georgia and Eduardo Cymerman, CEO of ElectroBike, who flew in from Mexico for the event, cut the ribbon, officially opening ElectroBike Georgia’s flagship store. ElectroBikes are state-of-the art, motorized bicycles powered by a rechargeable Lithium ion battery. The brand was launched in Mexico in 2012 and quickly spread to the U.S. www.electrobikega.com
“I am extremely excited about your grand opening,” said Joe Gebbia, Brookhaven District 4 city councilman. “Your business will support our efforts to increase bike riding in Brookhaven - especially along the nearby 3.2 mile Peachtree Creek Park that the Council recently approved.”

The new shop offers seven brands of ElectroBikes ranging from mountain bikes to traditional styles to bicycles that fold up, in a variety of colors and sizes, along with helmets, gear and bicycle accessories. Trained staff also provides ElectroBike repair, servicing, safety checks, brake adjustments, puncture repair, bike assembly and more.
“ElectroBikes are perfect for recreation, and also offer an affordable and efficient answer to Atlanta’s traffic challenges,” said Hunger. “The small motors are quiet and clean and provide power when you want it. ElectroBikes can be operated as traditional bicycles, or the rider can flip a switch to engage the throttle or turn on the pedal-assist feature. The Lithium ion batteries recharge in about an hour and a half simply by plugging them into a standard wall outlet, making the bikes perfect for commuters. Some models even fold up so you can easily take them with you into your home or office.”

“On behalf of the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, I am delighted to welcome ElectroBike to the City of Brookhaven,” said Goodman. “I hope having Georgia’s first-ever ElectroBike shop in our city will encourage our citizens, as well as others in the metro Atlanta area, to take advantage of the community’s bicycle paths and bike lanes, either as an alternative transportation option or just for fun and fitness.”
The new ElectroBike store is open Monday-Thursday, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon - 4 p.m. www.electrobikega.com
