The COVID-19 pandemic caused the U.S. Census Bureau to be delayed in receiving local census data, which is expected to be released in late September. But qualifying dates for the November elections in Brookhaven are Aug. 18-20, and local census data is key when it comes to redistricting and elections.

City council members approved a contract between the city and FLO Analytics at the Feb. 23 business meeting to address this issue.

The U.S. Census Bureau released state-level census data April 26. You can see how Georgia fared here.

The final vote on the charter amendment for redistricting will be held May 4.
