Brookhaven House Fire Still Under Investigation

DeKalb firefighters are still investigating the cause of a Fernwood Circle house fire over the weekend that claimed the lives of two cats and one dog.

The fire broke out early Saturday morning, March 2, according to a copy of the incident report.

The owner of the home, Susan Rickard, wasn't home when the fire broke out. She told investigators she was petsitting at a friend's house and was last at home the night before.

A neighbor also told investigators that when he went to bed at 1 am that morning, nothing appeared wrong with the house.
