Brookhaven Movies In The Moonlight Series Kicks Off This Weekend

The summer film series, hosted by the city of Brookhaven's parks and recreation department, starts Saturday. Here are the details.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — The city of Brookhaven's summer movie series, Movies in the Moonlight, kicks off this weekend.

Grab a blanket, some chairs and snacks and head out to Murphey Candler Park on Saturday for a showing of "Onward," a Disney film released in 2020. The film is about two elf brothers who go on an adventure to find an artifact that will bring their father back to life, according to a city news release.

The movie starts at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the County Corner open space at the park, located at 1551 W. Nancy Creek Drive. Attendees are encouraged to social distance and wear masks if interacting with other households, the release said.

Concessions will not be sold, so guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks (excluding alcohol), as well as chairs.

The showing is free of charge. Other movie showings will be announced at a future date.
