Brookhaven Police Investigate Triple Shooting At Local Nightclub

BROOKHAVEN, GA — The Brookhaven Police Department is investigating a triple shooting from this past Saturday, possibly connected to a Brookhaven nightclub.

Officers in the area of Josephine Lounge — located on Buford Highway near Clairmont Road — heard several gunshots just before 4 a.m. Saturday and went to investigate, CBS 46 reported. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot and rushed him to the hospital.

While conducting an investigation, police learned two other men were also shot in the incident, which took place in a crowded parking lot of Josephine's Lounge, police said. One man was found down the street from the parking lot and taken to the hospital. The third man was shot and drove himself to the hospital.

All three men are in stable condition, Brookhaven Police Department spokesperson Carlos Nino said Monday. CBS 46 reported that the men were innocent bystanders who "happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time."

Police said the men came to Metro Atlanta for the NBA All-Star Game, which took place in Atlanta March 7. The city of Brookhaven extended alcohol pouring hours for the All-Star Game to 4 a.m. on March 4, 5 and 7, and 2:55 a.m. March 6.

Nino declined to comment when asked if the extended pouring hours may have played a role in the shooting.

Josephine Lounge promoted its "All-Star Weekend Takeover" on Twitter multiple times throughout the past week.
