Brookhaven Police to Move to Permanent Station
Facility will open to the public in the next two months.

Following a city council vote on Tuesday, Brookhaven Police will move into a permanent police station on Buford Highway. Following renovations, the station should open to the public in the next two months.
The council voted unanimously to sign a five-year lease to relocate to 2665 Buford Highway. The department has been operating out of two temporary locations: the city’s municipal court in Corporate Square and the interim city hall in Dunwoody.
The city is beginning renovations to the new 16,268-square-foot station. Police command staff will move to the new station Dec. 27. The patrol division will move there in the next two months if renovations are complete.

“This move allows us to house all of our officers at a permanent location inside the city limits,” Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura said in a press release. “This location provides excellent access to Interstate 85, as well as other major roadways in the city, and allows us to be open to the public 24 hours a day.”
The municipal court will temporarily remain at 2 Corporate Square, Suite 125, until renovations are complete. The court is expected to relocate in January 2015.
