Brookhaven Professor on Two-Day Jeopardy! Winning Streak

Dr. Philip Tiu has won more than $71,000 so far, and he'll be on the show again Wednesday night.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Oglethorpe University's Dr. Philip Tiu is on a two-day Jeopardy! winning streak, and will appear again on the show Wednesday, March 16.

So far, Tiu, a mathematics professor, has won $71,098.

The show airs at 7:30 pm on WXIA-TV, 11 Alive.

Tiu is a first-time contestant on the show.

He'll be competing against Geoff Mitelman, a rabbi from Westchester County, NY, and Elena Gray-Blanc, a Santa Barbara, CA, editor, both of whom are first-time contestants.

Tiu gets a "B" from his students at RateMyProfessor, and one comments suggests he may have the smarts he needs to win:

"This class was very difficult. His answers are very difficult but they are meant to really test whether or not you know the material. … You can't just do problems and expect to do well. You have to actually understand the concepts behind the problems."
