DeKalb Cancels Some COVID-19 Vaccinations Wednesday

Due to the winter storm overtaking much of the U.S., DeKalb Board of Health had to cancel some second-dose coronavirus vaccine appointments.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Residents who landed a second-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointment through the DeKalb County Board of Health should check their phones and emails for an appointment cancellation.

The DeKalb BOH canceled about 450 second-dose Moderna vaccinations scheduled for Wednesday at its Doraville and Stonecrest sites Tuesday afternoon, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The winter storm that's overtaken much of the U.S. affected the transportation of Moderna vaccines, according to the county.

Vaccines are "being held until they can safely get through the supply chain," the county said. Those with appointments scheduled for Wednesday are being contacted by email and phone and will be informed of their new appointment date and time once it becomes available.
