The 6:30pm meeting at the Marriott Century Center (2000 Century Boulevard, NE, Atlanta 30345) will continue discussions regarding the potential conversion of Ashford Park School in to a Charter School.
Kelly Cadman from the GA Charter Schools Association will be in attendance and will do a presentation about what needs to happen between now and August for the school to get a Petition drafted and ready for submission to the County. In addition, the charter initiative group will be forming the following "working groups":
- Working Group 1: Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment
- Working Group 2: Operations
- Working Group 3: Governance, Finance, & Engagement
- Working Group 4: Waivers, Goals, Innovations & Autonomy
The group hopes to have a lot of APS teachers present at the meeting and invite all of them to participate in this process and to be part of these working groups.
