A woman caught passing fake checks in a Chamblee bank was labeled the city's "Moron of the Week" by the city police department.
Police responded to the East West Bank of Shallowford Road at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a suspect passing fake checks, according to a city police report. The suspect was arrested and found to have a warrant out for her arrest in Conyers.
The woman told police she approached a Candler Road business earlier in the day and was told the checks were fake, so she decided to try her hand at the Chamblee bank instead.
Chamblee police occasionally choose a "Moron of the Week" in a weekly report sent to residents.
