Georgia's Winter 2015-16 Forecast: Wet With Severe Storms

An intensifying El Niño could wreak havoc here in Georgia and around the nation.

Georgia could be in for heavy rainfall and severe weather this winter, according to AccuWeather’s new 2015-16 winter forecast.

“As one of the strongest El Niños in the last 50 to 60 years continues to develop, it’s likely that heavy rainfall and severe weather will take aim at the Southeast and Gulf Coast,” writes AccuWeather.com’s Jillian MacMath.

South Georgia is at an especially high risk for severe weather, as are Florida and South Carolina.
