Governor Deal Expected to Decide on Brookhaven Cityhood Bill Next Week
The office still hasn't made public whether the Governor plans to sign the legislation.

Gov. Nathan Deal is expected to make a decision on the Brookhaven Cityhood Bill early next week, according to the Governor's press office.
Stephanie Mayfield, Deal's press secretary said that the office couldn't comment on whether the Governor would sign the bill.

Deal can either sign the bill, veto it, or simply take no action on it whatsoever. If he signs the bill, the issue of Brookhaven incorporation will be put to voters on July 31.
House Bill 636 is a bill introduced by State Rep. Mike Jacobs to provide a city charter for the city of Brookhaven.
