Lagarde Opens In Chamblee
Lagarde, An American Eatery With Roots in New Orleans, Opened by Chef Jamie Adams and Leonardo Moura, owners of il Giallo in Sandy Springs

After much anticipation, Leonardo Moura and Chef Jamie Adams, owners of the popular authentic Italian Sandy Springs eatery il Giallo Osteria & Bar, are excited to announce that their newest restaurant, Lagarde American Eatery, will be opening in late November.
Lagarde, Chef Jamie Adams’ middle name, pays homage to the chef’s parents, who were born and raised in New Orleans. The menu reflects “Bird’s”* eye view of Americana through the culinary lens of New Orleans.
Many of Lagarde’s menu items will be based upon family recipes that Chef Adams grew up enjoying during family trips to New Orleans. Chef Jamie is recreating many of his mother’s recipes at Lagarde, including Andouille and Shrimp Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, and Daube, a traditional New Orleans braised brisket served with crispy onions. The menu also features a variety of freshly shucked Oysters, Barbecue, Plancha and Fried Shrimp and an array of fabulous Po’ Boys. Many Louisiana-made culinary products underscore these dishes, including fresh Leidenheimer Bread brought in daily for Po-Boys, Camellia Beans, Abita Beer, Crystal and Tabasco Hot Sauces and an array of raw oysters.

“Since I became a chef, I always wanted to open a restaurant that paid respect to the past and future of New Orleans’ multi-cultural cuisine that has had such an
impact on my palate and my life,” reflects Adams. “It’s such an exciting time to see this life-long dream coming to fruition,” he concludes.

John McGarry, who spent the majority of his culinary career as the Executive Chef of several Here To Serve Restaurants, will spearhead Lagarde’s Culinary Operations, as its Executive Chef.
il Giallo Osteria’s Pastry Chef, Libby Muldawer also serves as Pastry Chef for
Lagarde, creating classics like Pecan Pie and Bread Pudding, as well as playful desserts like a soft serve ice cream and toppings.
The bar offerings add to the vibrant atmosphere with frozen drink machines swirling icy cold Painkiller and Negroni Slushies, more than two dozen craft beers from New Orleans, Atlanta and beyond availalbe, a vast array of bourbons and a collection of bubbly that each pair perfectly with freshly shucked Oysters. Adult milkshakes crafted with soft serve ice cream are sure to be a popular way to conclude any meal at Lagarde.
Atlanta-based Interior Designer Vivien Patrie, owner of Vivien Leigh Interiors, designed Lagarde with a whimsical touch. Three of the restaurant’s walls are made entirely of glass, making it emmeshed in the community that surrounds it. The bright and airy space is filled with burgundy and grey hues, allowing the wall-to-wall colorful graffiti mural to take center stage. The mural was created and hand painted by Atlanta’s prolific graffiti artists, Lotus Eaters Club. A festive New Orleans balcony scene is recreated in humorous caricatures featuring both Chef Jamie Adams and Leo Moura interacting with personified Louisiana animals. Music, Chef Jamie’s other passion, is also a focal point of the restaurant. A spectacular hand-crafted Warrior Guitar highlighted by signatures of the Chef’s parents, Katie and Eddie, etched into the woodwork, hangs over the open-air kitchen.
This 118-seat restaurant, includes 20 seats at the spacious granite-topped bar, and a large 1,800 square foot outdoor patio that overlooks beautiful Keswick Park.
Many locals will see another familiar face at Lagarde, as Atlanta native and former owner of Brookhaven’s Kaleidoscope, Doug Gross take the helm as Lagarde’s General Manager. “I’m excited about once again helping to create a neighborhood gathering place from the ground up,” Doug reflects. “My goal is to establish Lagarde as a modern day Cheers – a local’s restaurant and bar where everyone knows you and knows what you enjoy eating and drinking, ensuring you have a fantastic experience,” Doug concludes.
