Mattison: 'Lot of Interest' in Golf Cart City Idea
Ideally, the city councilman would like to see a Brookhaven where residents could drive anywhere in the carts.

There's "a lot of interest" in making Brookhavan a so-called "golf cart city" that would allow residents to travel anywhere in town in the small, motorized carts, city Councilman Bates Mattison said this week.
"I think that there is certainly a lot of interest in the idea that people could come home, you know, to a city that's right in the heart of Atlanta and not have to worry about getting in their car anymore," the District 3 representative told FOX5 in a Tuesday report. "Just take your golf cart to anywhere in the city of Brookhaven that you wanted to go."
Mattison told the TV station it wasn't the top issue among residents when he ran for the council last year, but it stood out. Golf carts would also create a greener and more sustainable city as well, Mattison told Reporter Newspapers.
"If we can get people out of their cars walking around it creates much more of a community feeling. I also think it’s good for businesses,” Mattison said.
