Oglethorpe Art Museum Participating In Museum Day
Visitors who present a Museum Day ticket will gain free entrance for two at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art on Sept. 21.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Famed Impressionist artist Henri Matisse once noted that “art is an escape from reality.” Brookhaven residents are invited to escape on Saturday, Sept. 21, to search for their own reality at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art (OUMA) as they host Smithsonian Museum Day from noon to 5 p.m.
Two new art exhibits have opened at the museum on Sept. 13 coinciding with Welcoming Week. The museum is located at Lowry Hall, 3rd Floor, 4484 Peachtree Road. NE.
OUMA is among thousands of museums and cultural institutions across the country that are taking part in the annual event. Museum Day is a celebration of “boundless curiosity” hosted by Smithsonian Magazine and OUMA is offering museum visitors free admission using tickets that will be available online. For that one day, complimentary tickets for two people may be printed or presented on a smartphone.
