BROOKHAVEN, GA — Oglethorpe University mathematics professor Dr. Philip Tiu will be on Jeopardy on Monday night, March 14.

The show airs at 7:30 pm on WXIA-TV, 11 Alive.

Tiu is a first-time contestant on the show.

He'll be competing against Amanda Darby, a Maryland librarian, and returning champion Gordon Moffat of Nashville.

Tiu gets a "B" from his students at RateMyProfessor, and one comments suggests he may have the smarts he needs to win:

"This class was very difficult. His answers are very difficult but they are meant to really test whether or not you know the material. … You can't just do problems and expect to do well. You have to actually understand the concepts behind the problems."
