Police Search For Clues In Fatal Shooting At Brookhaven Apartments

Police are looking for the person who shot a man to death outside an apartment complex in Brookhaven.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Police in Brookhaven are searching for the person who shot and killed a man late Thursday in what they believe was a drug deal gone bad. Officers found a man on the ground bleeding profusely outside the Avana Apartment Complex in the 2900 block of Clairmont Road in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven police identified the victim as 26-year-old Travis Ridley, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. SIGN UP: To get notified of more local news like this, click here to sign up for the Brookhaven Patch. Detectives said that they don't believe the victim or shooter lived in the apartment complex. But they did recover a gun they suspect belonged to the victim, raising the possibility that the shooter used his weapon after the victim pulled his firearm, police said.
