Brookhaven residents can splash around the city's pools a little longer on Sundays, except at Lynwood Park — the pool opening is delayed.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Brookhaven residents can swim around for a few hours longer on Sundays, city officials announced Wednesday.

Two weeks ago, the city of Brookhaven announced its three pools will open for Memorial Day weekend at limited capacities and Sunday hours of 1-6 p.m. Here are the new pool hours:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays: noon-6 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Sundays: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The pools will still open May 29 and remain open daily through Sept. 6. The pools are located at Murphey Candler Park, 1551 W. Nancy Creek Drive; Briarwood Park, 2235 Briarwood Way.

The pool at Lynwood Park, located at 3360 Osborne Road, was supposed to open May 29 with the rest of the pools; however, due to a "newly discovered maintenance issue," Lynwood's pool will be delayed at least a week, a spokesperson for the city said Wednesday.

Once the opening date is determined, which city leaders anticipate to be next weekend, another announcement will be posted on the city's website.
