Type-A Spring Break: Camping, Army Recons, Little White House, Attack of the Killer Zebra

Got any spring break experiences you'd like to share? Here's ours.

We at Patch are all about readership participation, but sometimes to get the ball rolling, we have to take the first step.

So here's my family's spring break itinerary from last week:

  • Two days and three nights at a cabin in Ellijay. Imaginary army missions in the dead of night with new night-vision eyewear and Airsoft full-auto rifles.
  • Two days and one night at an extreme north Georgia campground with no humans in sight. No imaginary army missions after dark for fear of being eaten alive by whatever's out there in the pitch blackness.
  • One day at Roswell SkyZone. Extreme exhaustion follows.
  • Three days in middle Georgia. First stop - an outdoor shooting range in Woodbury.
  • Then, onto a LaGrange motel with an indoor swimming pool where our aspiring future Navy SEAL can try out his new junior mini-sub.
  • Then onto the Little White House where a ceremony marks the 68th anniversary of FDR's passing.
  • Then onto nearby Animal Country Safari, where all types of four-legged mammals feel free to stick their head into your automobile, drool and bare their teeth, demanding nutrition. (Note: see video for proof of these last two entries).
  • Finally, back to Brookhaven where I can take a vacation from all of this by getting back to work.

There. I've showed you mine. Let's see yours.
