Week Ahead: Cooking, Outdoor Movie, Young Professionals and More

A list of things going on in and around the Brookhaven area this week.

  1. Chef Chris Hall of Muss & Turner’s to Host Cooking Class: Monday.
    Chris Hall returns to Simple Abundance to help us usher in the season with all the garden bounty that summer has to offer. He’ll demonstrate how to prepare White Gazpacho with crab, toasted almonds and basil, Tybee Island Shrimp with Summer Squash Risotto, arugula and tomato jam and Summer Berry Trifle.
  2. Second Chance Vegetable Garden: Tuesday. Sarah Brodd from the UGA Cooperative Extension will teach us about veggies that can be planted in the middle of summer and provide some tips about what to do if your vegetable garden failed the first time around.
  3. Read to Rover: Wednesday. Ages 5 to 8 years. Share your new reading skills by reading aloud to Ellie, a therapy dog visiting the Brookhaven Library.
  4. YOUNG VARIETY OF GEORGIA KICKS OFF FIRST MIXER AT PUB 71: Thursday. Young Variety of Georgia invites Atlanta-area young professionals to an evening of drink specials, tasty appetizers and exciting giveaways – all in the name of charity!
  5. Atlanta Summer Movie Series - Breakfast at Tiffany's: Thursday. Town Brookhaven and Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces are teaming up to bring you the Atlanta Summer Movie Series on Thursday evenings through July 25th.
