2 Dead, 2 Injured In DeKalb Gas Station Shooting

DeKalb County police say as many as 50 shots were fired at a Decatur gas station Tuesday night, leaving two people injured and two dead.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Two people are injured and two are dead, including the alleged shooter, after as many as 50 shots were fired at a Decatur-area gas station Tuesday, DeKalb County police said.

The quadruple shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday night at an Exxon station on Glenwood Road just inside the Perimeter, according to a spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department.

DeKalb police said the suspected shooter, a man in his late 50s, approached a group of men outside the station and fired his gun, killing a man in his late 20s. Investigators said two men in the group returned fire and killed the suspect.

Two bystanders were shot in the crossfire and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims' and suspect's identities are not being released at this time as the investigation is still ongoing, DeKalb police spokesperson Michaela Vincent said.

"Meanwhile, investigators do not believe this to be random," Vincent said.
