All-Ages Musical Fundraiser for Lakeside Band Program Jan. 8
"Vikings Rock" will be a fun evening of food and music on Jan. 8, 2020 at the Vista Room featuring Frets on Fire and Flat Earth Club.

New this year, the nonprofit Lakeside High School Band Association (LBA) has planned an all-ages musical fundraiser to support Lakeside’s award-winning band program. “Vikings Rock” will be a fun evening of lively music on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020 at the Vista Room, 2836 LaVista Road, Decatur. Entertainment will be provided by two local rock bands: Flat Earth Club, comprised of current Lakeside music students, and fellow rockers Frets on Fire, comprised of recent Lakeside graduates. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music will begin at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students at the door.
“This is the first of what we hope will become an annual fundraising event,” said Dani Reiter, LBA president-elect. “We wanted to plan something family-friendly and fun in a nearby venue that serves great food and drinks, too, so people can come for both dinner and the show. The Vista Room has generously opened their doors to us and I hope the community will join the LBA for an enjoyable evening and what I hope will become an annual event.”
2020 will begin Lakeside High School’s 54th year of exceptional musical instruction. It is truly a family affair, as many Lakeside graduates who once participated in the music program are now watching their own children study and perform music. Band Director Dr. David Fairchild and Assistant Band Director Daniel MacNamara are Lakeside High School graduates, and this year, Dr. Fairchild continued his own family tradition as he welcomed his oldest daughter into the Lakeside band. Lakeside High School is located at 3801 Briarcliff Rd., Atlanta, GA 30345. www.lakesidevikingband.com, www.facebook.com/lakesidevikingband/
