Become a LifeLine Animal Project Weekend Warrior!

Also, meet our Pets of the Week: Barnabas, a handsome boy from our DeKalb shelter, and Birdie, a lovely lady from the LifeLine Cat Center.

Do you have what it takes to become a Weekend Warrior? LifeLine Animal Project thinks you do, so we’re inviting you to become one by spending the weekend exploring Atlanta with a shelter dog!

Weekend Warriors take long-term residents out of one of LifeLine's shelters – DeKalb or Fulton County Animal Services or LifeLine's Dog House & Kitty Motel – and do things like visit coffee shops, explore parks, hike, binge watch Netflix or cuddle with their furry guests.

LifeLine provides the food, leash, crate, "adopt me" vest and list of dog-friendly patios and trails. All you have to provide is the love! Feedback from our Warriors has been fantastic with everyone saying they’ve had a great time! Ready to have some fun? For more information or to fill out an application, visit: LifeLineAnimal.org/weekendwarriors.

LifeLine’s Cat Adoption Center Pet of the Week Birdie

Meet our Cat Adoption Center Pet of the Week, Birdie. This lovely and sweet senior kitty still has plenty of spring in her step, and often gets frisky and playful when the mood strikes. Her favorite thing to do is to sit in a sunny window and watch the birds and squirrels outside. She also loves laying in the laps of people she loves. Birdie has had her front paws declawed, so she must be kept inside. She is also FIV+, but as the latest research confirms, FIV+ cats can safely mingle with those who don’t carry the virus, so she would be fine with another calm cat in the house. Are you someone who would appreciate a sweet senior lady like Birdie? Come meet her today at LifeLine’s Cat Adoption Center, 3172 E Ponce de Leon Ave, or call 404.549.8442.
