BREAKING: DeKalb, Decatur Schools Decide On Early Release
More snow is expected Friday across metro Atlanta, says the National Weather Service.

UPDATE: The City Schools of Decatur announced at 12:45 p.m. Friday that all schools will close one hour early due to "a shift in the current weather forecast and rapidly changing road conditions." The school system cancelled all after-school activities and athletic events scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
DECATUR, GA — Due to Friday's snowstorm, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) has announced the early dismissal of classes at all schools this afternoon. The DCSD also cancelled extracurricular after-school activities. The early dismissal times will be:
- Elementary schools – 12 p.m.
- High schools – 12:45 p.m.
- Middle schools – 1:30 p.m.
- ALL STAFF – 2:00 p.m.
All extracurricular activities for Friday evening and Saturday morning will be cancelled, the DCSD announced on its Facebook page.

The National Weather Service on Friday morning issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of north and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta. According to the NWS, the wintry mix of rain and snow should turn to all snow across north and west-central Georgia Friday.
The DCSD said it will provide more information on closures, as weather reports warrant, at www.dekalbschoolsga.org.
