Woof! Brookside Park in Decatur Gets Off-Leash Dog Area

DeKalb County will hold ribbon-cutting on Jan. 27 to mark the event.

DECATUR, GA – Puppies in DeKalb County are getting a new place to play.

Brookside Park on North Decatur Road recently opened an off-leash area for doggies to run around, the county said in a news release Tuesday.

The county's Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 27 to celebrate the area's opening.

Brookside's off-leash area joins other such green spaces in Decatur, such as Oakhurst and Glenlake dog parks.

Seven-acre Brookside Park features a community garden, a playground and walking trails. The public is invited to the event.
