Buddy The Dog Was Lost, Now Is Found

The website Fidofinder.com says only 16 percent of lost dogs are found and returned to their owners. Put Buddy among that lucky number.

Last Saturday, another dog chased Buddy away from his home in the 100 block of Fairview Avenue in Decatur, said owner Steve Saunders.

Saunders said he got a call Tuesday from a woman on Midway Road, about three miles away. She'd been feeding Buddy and finally got close enough to read the identification tags.

Saunders said he posted lost-dog fliers all over town and talked to merchants and City of Decatur public works employees. All said they'd keep their eyes open.

"Though the woman on Midway found her, it feels like a collective effort," he said.
