Crews Search Lakes, Parks For Missing DeKalb Woman
Crews still hope to fine Millicent Williams after the 78-year-old disappeared. Her grandson is charged with murder.
DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County officials in recent days have continued to search for a missing grandmother as hopes dim day by day. Her grandson has been charged in the disappearance of the 78-year-old woman, who vanished more than two weeks ago.
Gregory Williams, a military veteran who reportedly suffers from PTSD, is now facing murder charges in the case of the missing woman. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app.)
Authorities believe Williams may have killed his mother based on evidence they found when they searched the home, including a large amount of blood throughout the place. Blood was reportedly found on her floor, in her bed and on bedsheets in the garage.

DeKalb authorities are doing what they can to find the woman despite the grim indications surrounding her disappearance. "It's difficult because it's such a large area," DeKalb police Sgt. Shiera Campbell told WAGA-TV. "If you think about DeKalb County, all of the parks, all of the walking trails, the bodies of water -- there's so many different areas."
Search crews last week canvassed a park, a wooded area and the vicinity of a lake in search of the woman. Her grandson has refused to cooperate with authorities.

When Gregory Williams was pulled over and arrested in the parking lot of a local grocery store, the car had a bloody knife in it, according to news reports.
Recent news reports indicate that the woman previously sought an order of protection against her son. Gregory Williams was apprehended by DeKalb officers on July 27 after authorities spotted him in his grandmother's 2014 Toyota Carolla.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Millicent Williams is asked to call 911 or the DeKalb County Police Department.
