Decatur Arts Festival 2018 Set For Memorial Day Weekend
More than 150 hand-picked artists will have work on display, live performances are on tap and the popular Art Walk is back in Decatur.

DECATUR, GA — One of Decatur's most popular signature events is all set for Memorial Day weekend.
The Decatur Arts Festival will take over downtown on May 25-27, with an artist market, live music, improv and standup comedy performances, a children's festival and parade, literary events and more. Event locations for the arts festival will include the square, Decatur Recreation Center, East and West Ponce de Leon Avenue, Clairemont Avenue and the Dalton Gallery on the Agnes Scott College campus.
The festival kicks off with the popular Art Walk, from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, May 25. Participants are invited to stroll around Decatur, checking out art exhibits at participating shops and galleries while enjoying free snacks and drinks along the way.

More than 150 artists, all selected through a competitive juried selection process, will have their work on display at the festival's Artist's Market. The market is open in Decatur Square from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 27.

The Performing Arts Stage will be set up on the community bandstand in Decatur Square. Performances start at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday and run throughout the day. Performers this year include Atlanta rocker Michelle Malone and steel guitar ace A.J. Ghent on Saturday and guitarists Cody Matlock and The Heather Gillis band on Sunday.

Other Decatur Arts Festival attractions will include a Kids Arts Festival at Decatur Recreation Cener on Sycamore Street, a Theater and Literary Arts tent, the Decatur LOL comedy tent and New Dance events and performances at various venues.
Other facts about the 2018 Decatur Arts Festival:
- Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to the Decatur station or bike downtown and use the city's bike valet service. A festival map with parking information is available here. - The festival will go on, rain or shine. All events are free.
- Food trucks and beverage vendors will be set up on East Court Square. Downtown Decatur's many restaurants and bars will be open for business as well. See a list of food options here.
