Decatur Native, Kansas City Chiefs Kicker To Play In Super Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, also a Decatur native, will play in the 2020 Super Bowl game against the San Francisco 49ers.

DECATUR, GA — The Kansas City Chiefs third-year kicker and Decatur native Harrison Butker will play in the Super Bowl Feb. 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

In his NFL debut against the Washington Redskins on October 2, 2017, Butker converted fields goals from 26, 32 and 43 yards. His 43-yard field goal gave the Chiefs a 23-20 lead with four seconds left on the clock, sealing the game.

With 38 made field goals during the 2017 season Butker holds the franchise record for most field goals made in a single season.

Butter is tied for fifth in franchise history for most field goals made of 50-plus yards in a Chiefs kicker's career with six with K Lawrence Tynes (six; 2004-06).

He attended The Westministe Schools and Georgia Tech.
