Decatur School Calendar 2018-'19: First Day Of School, Vacations

DECATUR, GA — The first day of school in Decatur is on Wednesday, Aug. 1 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The City Schools of Decatur have released their 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• Sept. 3: Labor Day
• Sept. 7: 1st Marking Period Ends
• Sept. 17-21: Fall Break
• Oct. 8: (Make-up day) Teacher Workday
• Oct. 26: 2nd Marking Period Ends
• Nov. 6: Professional Learning
• Nov. 19-23: Thanksgiving Break
• Dec. 21: 3rd Marking Period Ends
• Dec. 24-31: Holiday Break
• Jan. 1-4: Holiday Break
• Jan. 4: Professional Learning
• Jan. 21: MLK Day
• Feb. 15: 4th Marking Period Ends
• Feb. 18-22: Winter Break
• March 11: (Make-up day) Teacher Workday
• April 1-5: Spring Break
• April 12: 5th Marking Period Ends
• May 27: Memorial Day
• May 31: Last Day of School for Students
• June 3-June 28: Summer Break
