DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A DeKalb County man was arrested and charged with felony murder Thursday, three days after the death of a 19-month-old child, officials with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said.

Kentavious Hardnett, 23, was arrested in Stone Mountain Jan. 27. The 19-month-old victim — whose name has not been released — was in Hardnett's care on Jan. 24, when the child was allegedly injured in a fall and later died at the hospital, said Cynthia Baugh Williams, public information officer for the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

The case is still being investigated. Hardnett was taken to the DeKalb County Jail where he remains held without bond as of Thursday.
