Voters in Decatur have cast their ballots in races for city commissioner and board of education.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA ?Polls closed Tuesday on Election Day. Decatur voters cast their ballots in the 2022 primary election.

This year, Decatur voters decided on races for city council commissioner, judges, the Board of Education, and DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor.

Voters also made their choice in statewide races including governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, secretary of state, and more.
Board of Commissioners
Four candidates qualified for Board of Commissioners District 2: Lauren Alexander, Donald Broussard, Marshall Orson, Michelle Long Spears. There is no incumbent in this race.
District 3 Board of Commissioner Larry Johnson is being challenged by Andrew Walter Bell.
Three candidates qualified for Board of Commissioners District 7. Incumbent Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is running for re-election against D. Marie Monroe and Gregory Adams, who pastors Restoration In Christ Church.
Board of Education (District 2, 4 and 6)
Four candidates qualified for the Board of Education District 2 race: Steven Bowden, Wendy Hamilton, Whitney Mcginniss, and Candice D. Mckinley.
In the Board of Education District 4 race, incumbent Allyson Gevertz is being challenged by Bonnie Chappell.
Three candidates qualified for the Board of Education District 6 race. Incumbent Diijon "Twin" Dacosta is being challenged by Janet Hughes And Venola Mason.
Judges
Judge of State Court (Division A2)
Incumbent Kimberly K. Anderson is running unopposed.
Judge of State Court (Division A-7)
Kimberly Alexander is running unopposed.
Judge of State Court of DeKalb County (Division A-4)
Johnny Panos is running unopposed.
Judge of State Court of DeKalb County (Division A-1)
Alvin T. Wong is running unopposed.
DeKalb County Soil And Water Conservation District Supervisor
Incumbent Carol Hayes is running for re-election against challenger Paige Penland.
The DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation is responsible for promoting the conservation of soil, water, forestry, wildlife and other natural resources throughout DeKalb. In addition, the Supervisors promote conservation education through youth and adult education programs, and provide citizens and local governments with technical assistance related to erosion control and sedimentation prevention.
Unofficial Results:
As of 11:46 p.m., unofficial results show 28 percent of precincts reporting in DeKalb County.
County Commissioner District 2: Marshall Orson is leading with 52.13 percentage points, with Lauren Alexander following with 37 percentage points.
County Commission District 3: Incumbent Larry Johnson is in the lead with 78.19 percentage points.
County Commission District 7: Incumbent Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is in the lead with 76.75 percentage points. Gregory Adams follows with 16.61 percentage points; D. Marie Monroe with 6.15 percentage points.
Board of Education District 2: Candice McKinley is in the lead with 28.95 percentage points. Whitney McGinniss follows with 28.55 percentage points.
