DeKalb Schools Invites Students To Virtual Town Hall On Reopening

The DeKalb County School District is set to host a virtual town hall Thursday for students about the upcoming return to in-person learning.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Students in the DeKalb County School District will have a chance to learn more about the return to in-person learning at a town hall Thursday.

The district has remained in virtual-only learning since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but DeKalb is planning to reopen for face-to-face instruction for some students beginning next Tuesday.

Students in pre-K through second grade, in addition to sixth and ninth grades, can begin returning for in-person classes starting March 9. Students in third through fifth grades, seventh and eighth grades and 10th through 12th grades can return March 15.

The virtual town hall will take place via Zoom and Facebook Live on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., according to the district's website. Visit the DCSD Family Engagement Facebook page for the livestream.
