DeKalb Suspends All COVID-19 Testing Appointments Friday
Individuals with COVID-19 testing appointments Feb. 5 should have received an email with options to reschedule or get a test elsewhere.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The DeKalb County Board of Health canceled all of its COVID-19 testing appointments scheduled for Friday, Feb. 5 due to "staffing challenges," per a press release from the DeKalb BOH.
A health board spokesperson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the staff shortage was "due to illness" but declined to provide further information due to the possibility of violating privacy laws.
According to the press release, individuals with appointments scheduled Friday at the county's lone testing site — located at Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church — were notified and given the option to reschedule or register for COVID-19 testing at another location, including in neighboring counties.

People can still register online for future testing appointments through the DeKalb BOH. The county health department also offers the COVID-19 vaccine to Georgians that fit the eligibility requirements, but appointment availability is sporadic as it's based on Georgia's limited vaccine supply. While vaccine appointments are currently full, those interested can register on the website here when appointments are available.
