DeKalb Woman Charged With Murder In Shooting Death: Report

Police found the shooting victim Wednesday afternoon in the front yard of a DeKalb home, says media report.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A DeKalb County woman is behind bars on a felony murder charge following the shooting death Wednesday of another DeKalb resident.

Police officers arrived at the scene Wednesday afternoon in the 3000 block of Weslock Circle near Gresham Park to find the shooting victim, an unidentified man, lying in the front yard of a home, according to a police report.

The man had been shot in the stomach and later died at a local hospital, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Three people at the scene identified a 37-year-old woman, Aziza El-Shair, as the person who shot the man. El-Shair, who lives on Weslock Circle, was sitting in the driver’s seat of an SUV parked on the street, the AJC reported.

A county police officer took El-Shair into custody without incident and seized a firearm inside the SUV, according to the newspaper.
