
Dr. Bonnie Carman Harvey, writer, teacher, editor, died Sunday, November 9 from esophageal cancer and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.
Born in 1930 in Cresco, IA, to William and Lena Carman, she was married to Raymond E. Harvey until he died in 1989. Predeceased by son Steven D. Harvey in 2011, she is survived by daughter Cynthia Harvey Fletcher and son-in-law James L. Fletcher, Jr. of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers.
She earned a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from Georgia State; worked as Movieguide film critic; taught writing at Kennesaw State and DeKalb Medical Wellness; edited for other writers. Her magnum opus was Living Life Twice: A Second Chance at Adulthood (2013).

Her funeral services will be held Friday, November 14 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons, Decatur with interment to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Visitation at begin at 12 noon at A.S. Turner and Sons Decatur.
