Drive-Thru COVID Vaccines, Free Food Available Saturday In DeKalb

DeKalb County residents in need can receive free groceries and COVID-19 vaccines at four drive-thru locations in the county on Saturday.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Residents across DeKalb County can get a free COVID-19 vaccine and free groceries this weekend.

The county is hosting its monthly food distribution event Saturday in conjunction with the DeKalb County Board of Health to help get residents vaccinated. The county has provided fruit, vegetables and protein to more than 35,000 DeKalb County families since May 2020, according to a county news release.

“Getting potentially lifesaving vaccine into the arms of DeKalb residents is our top priority,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. “We must create and implement innovative community-based strategies that will increase vaccination rates among underserved populations.”
