Two outstanding poets will feature at Avondale Estates’ monthly poetry reading on Tuesday June 4 at Savage Pizza in Avondale Estates.
Mariana McDonald’s poetry has appeared in The Southern Poetry Anthology: Georgia; Southern Women’s Review, Sugar Mule; From a Bend in the River: 100 New Orleans Poets, and El Boletin Nacional. Writing in both English and Spanish, she moved from New Orleans to Atlanta in 2001. She is a fellow of Georgia’s Hambridge Arts Center.
Felton Eaddy is author of three books: Bending Over to Pick Up a Snake, Living by the Sword, and If I Hold My Tongue. He leads workshops and performs for school children of all ages as well as for adults. He is publisher of Black Poets of the 80s from the Deep South and Rough: An African American Review, Poetz and Crux. He is a teaching artist with the Georgia Council for the Arts and teaches writing and literature at Clark Atlanta University where he hosts “Poetry Slam for Students”.

Sign ups for the open reading begin at 7 p.m. Open reading begins at 7:15 p.m. and the featured poets will begin reading at 8 p.m.
