Georgia Weather Forecast: Cold, Windy, Then Warmer

This work week in metro Atlanta starts off feeling like we're headed back to winter. Find out, though, when it'll warm back up.

ATLANTA, GA — We wouldn't blame you if you felt like metro Atlanta was sliding back toward wintertime based on Monday morning's weather. But, take heart — after a cool and windy day, we'll be right back to feeling like spring.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory early Monday for all of north and central Georgia. There also was a freeze watch in effect for far northeast Georgia from late Monday into early Tuesday.

A cold front that blew into metro Atlanta and north Georgia brought winds that could gust as high as 40 m.p.h. Monday, the weather service said. Outside the north Georgia mountains, it probably won't hit freezing, but we're looking at a chilly low around 40 degrees Monday night.

And here's more good news if you've got outdoor plans: there's not a drop of rain in this work-week forecast.
