Georgia Weather Forecast: Slight Tornado Chance From TS Gordon
After Labor Day, see what the rest of the shortened work week looks like, weather-wise, in metro Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA — Metro Atlanta likely won't get much impact from Tropical Storm Gordon, which rolled past Florida early Monday and is headed toward the Gulf Coast, where it may hit as a hurricane. But parts of Georgia may not be so lucky.
According to the National Weather Service, there is "slight tornado potential" in parts of southwest and west-central Georgia on Monday afternoon and evening if outer bands from the storm move through the area. That possibility remained low Monday morning, but the NWS said it is monitoring the storm.
Meanwhile, the forecast in metro Atlanta remained relatively dry. There's a 20-30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms though most of this shortened work week. Any rain we do get Tuesday through Thursday is most likely in the afternoon and evening, the weather service says.
