Georgia Weather Forecast: Strong Storms Likely This Weekend

The National Weather Service says metro Atlanta could get some sever thunderstorms this weekend. Find out when the rain is most likely.

ATLANTA, GA — Strong thunderstorms could roll into metro Atlanta just in time for rush hour on Friday and those storms could keep popping up all the way through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, "scattered to numerous" thunderstorms are expected Friday in north and central Georgia, mainly between 4-7 p.m. A few of those storms could be strong to severe, the weather service says, with damaging wind, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall.

And that's pretty much going to be the case through the rest of the weekend, according to the forecast.
