Georgia Weather Forecast: Will It Rain Labor Day Weekend?

ATLANTA, GA — Keep your fingers crossed, but here in metro Atlanta, we might have pretty good weather for Labor Day weekend. Sure, there's a chance of thunderstorms every day between Friday and Monday.

But the chance each day isn't a huge one. And, according to the National Weather Service, the likelihood of severe weather in north Georgia is low for the holiday weekend.

We'll have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday, dropping down to just a 20 percent chance on Sunday and Monday. Temperatures, meanwhile, will be warm but now oppressive — topping out at either 87 or 88 every day through the long weekend.

Believe it or not, the evenings this weekend should be the driest. After a 20 percent chance of rain Friday night, every night through Monday has a forecast of partly cloudy except Sunday night, when there's a tiny 10 percent chance of rain.

No guarantees, but it looks like you'll have clear skies for any plans you have getting in one last summer-like weekend this year. Happy Labor Day, everybody.
