All Lanes On I-285 Reopen After Truck Accident, Fuel Spill
A tanker truck crashed into an overhead sign on I-285 Monday morning, causing the sign to fall and the truck to spill fuel on the road.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — All lanes of Interstate 285 have reopened after being shut down for about seven hours Monday due to a tanker truck accident that knocked down an overhead sign and spilled fuel across the interstate, according to DeKalb police.
The truck crashed into the overhead sign Monday morning around 10 a.m., according to the DeKalb County Police Department. The wreck caused the tanker to spill the fuel it was carrying all over the road, and crews were working for hours to clean the fuel off the road.
All southbound lanes on I-285 just north of Memorial Drive in DeKalb County were shut down Monday from about 10 a.m. to roughly 5:15 p.m.
