Hurricane Dorian Relief Supplies Being Collected In DeKalb County

DECATUR, GA — Several DeKalb County agencies are partnering to provide relief and supplies for those affected by Hurricane Dorian. Donations of various items are being accepted through noon on Monday, Sept. 9, at the sheriff's office in the lobby of the DeKalb jail at 4425 Memorial Drive; the tax commissioner's office at 4380 Memorial Drive; and the clerk of the superior court, at 556 N. McDonough Street.

Items being requested include bottled water, garbage bags, first aid kits, packaged foods and other items.

Hurricane Dorian began hitting Georgia's coast on Wednesday, with 21 counties under a state of emergency. President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency in Georgia on Monday, and Gov. Brian Kemp has been huddled with state emergency management officials since the weekend.
