Internet-Famous Pup Hosting Party For Charity

ATLANTA, GA — A fashion-forward Shih Tzu and two popular porker pals will be hosting a party for pet lovers in metro Atlanta this weekend — and all the proceeds are going to charity.

Sparkles the Diva, who calls Atlanta home, has more than 51,000 followers on Instagram. On Saturday, she'll be joined by Prissy and Pop, a pair of mini-pigs from Florida with a whopping 690,000 followers, for the "PINKtastic Birthday PIGnic FUNdraiser" in Tucker.

The party is set for 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Mister Migs, a pet-fashion retailer at 2137 Flintstone Dr., Suite G. All proceeds will go to Mister Mig's nonprofit charity, Your Career Unleashed, a scholarship-based program that helps young adults with autism and other learning disabilities become independent and find jobs.

Guests of all ages and their pets are invited to what is billed as "the most Instagram-worthy event of the summer." Picnic-style food and a pink cake and pink cotton candy — representing Sparkles' favorite color — will be available, as will treats for pups.

Other canine social-media stars are expected to attend, including Bodie and Spanky, Dunkin the Frenchie, and Matilda the Pug. A silent auction and raffles will be held, with prizes including items from Vanderpump Pets, Vera Bradley and BarkBox, an overnight stay at the Omni Hotel at the Battery Atlanta and more.

A pet fashion contest will be held and all pets are encouraged to come decked out in their most fashionable pink attire.
