Lifeline, ASPCA, Bumble Team Up To Help Local Dogs Find Home

Bumble is featuring DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Service's dogs in their app

ATLANTA, GA – If you're flipping through the Bumble dating app and come across some furry, adorable dating profiles, swipe right! This October, during Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, LifeLine Animal Project’s DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services shelters will be participating in the ASPCA®’s (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) national #FindYourFido initiative, a campaign focused on harnessing social media to expand awareness of adoptable shelter dogs and help them find safe and loving homes.

As part of this year’s #FindYourFido campaign, networking app Bumble will be featuring dogs from DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services in their app October 1-6. During this time, Atlanta’s Bumble users will see profiles of adorable and adoptable dogs interspersed with their other connections.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs enter U.S. animal shelters every year, where they sit waiting to be adopted. LifeLine’s DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services shelters joins select animal shelters in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Austin who are also taking part in this promotion. All dogs featured on Bumble, and all shelter sweethearts (dogs over 25 lbs. who have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped), may be adopted for FREE in honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

“LifeLine is proud to join Bumble and the ASPCA in this life-saving initiative on behalf of dogs in need,” said LifeLine Spokesperson Karen Hirsch. “We encourage local supporters to help promote our wonderful animals and spread the word that pet adoption should be everyone’s first choice when it comes to finding your next Fido."

In addition to swiping right on Bumble, LifeLine also encourages people to help support their participation in the campaign by becoming a digital ambassador. Simply share profiles of adoptable dogs from LifeLineAnimal.org on your social media channels to grow their network of potential adopters.
