A Love Letter From Beverly Williams

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Beverly Williams' love letter to her late mother:

The little girl in me always said, “Happy Valentine's Day,” and wanted to know it was being received. I knew that you could hear me, but there was never any confirmation that you could understand me.

In my heart of hearts, I know that you can hear me now. I imagined that you are in a place where there's no more pain, no more sorrow and lots of chocolate. I know you knew how much you meant to me in some small way.

If I had to do it another 40 years, I would continue to share Valentine's Day with you. You were my mother, you were my first love and my first friend. For that, I carry you in my heart for all my days to come.

When we meet again, we will have our chocolate together like old times.

Happy Valentine's Day, Mom.
