Man Charged With Murder Arrested In Stone Mountain

A man was arrested in Stone Mountain after being charged with Felony Murder and First Degree Forgery, says DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA —The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit has arrested 22-year-old Stone Mountain resident William Ralph Callaway after he was charged with Felony Murder and First Degree Forgery, police shared Tuesday in a news release.

Warrants had been issued Nov. 6 for Callaway after an incident that occurred Oct. 6 on Kensington Road in Decatur. The warrants allege that on Oct. 6, Callaway and Jaymericko Scott, Jr. attempted to purchase automatic weapons using counterfeit money.

According to the warrants, both were shot by the seller during the transaction. Scott died from his injuries and Callaway was treated, and later released from the hospital.

Callaway was taken into custody Tuesday from a Stone Mountain residence without incident. He is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
