Man Found Fatally Shot At Motel In Decatur

DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County police are investigating a deadly shooting at a motel in Decatur, Patch has learned.

The body of a male victim was found early Wednesday at the Gulf American Inns in the 3700 block of Flat Shoals Road, according to news reports.

Police investigators believe the man was a guest at the motel. There are no signs of forced entry, officials on the scene told local media.

A passerby heard several gunshots ring out around 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to WAGA-TV. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man bleeding behind the motel, the TV station reports.

The man, in his mid-30s, has multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Law enforcement officials do not have a motive or suspect at this time, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The building was covered in police tape as dawn broke, but the tape has been removed.
