Decatur police said the man tried to board a moving train when he fell, and the train severed one of his legs.
DECATUR, GA — A man lost one of his legs over the weekend while trying to board a moving train, Decatur police spokesperson Sgt. John Bender said.
Bender said around 10:22 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the railroad crossing at East Trinity Place and East College Avenue and found an injured man. Investigators believe he was trying to get on the moving train when he fell, and the train severed one of his legs.
The man was conscious when police arrived, and he was taken to a nearby hospital. Bender said he's expected to survive, and did not release his name or any other identifying information.
